Sheila Nellis is a makeup artist superstar and cosmetic giant Trish McEvoy’s right-hand woman. Nellis started as a make-up artist 20 years ago in San Diego’s Robinson’s stores with then-beauty giant Adrien Arpel.
Today, she travels the globe for McEvoy, and her work can be seen on catwalks in New York and celeb faces in L.A. on Oscar night.
Today, Nellis can be found at select cosmetic counters where Trish McEvoy is sold–helping women look amazing with her very simple tricks and tips.
When it comes to women going through chemotherapy, Nellis says she’s had her share of clients who’ve desperately needed her help–too many in fact.
Full disclosure:  I met Ms. Nellis when my best buddy was herself going through chemo. She’d lost her hair, brows, and lashes, and her color was a slight green. Nellis came to her house and did a free makeup tutorial. The highlight came at at the end of the session, when Nellis gave my friend’s daughter, then eight years old, dozens of samples to play with. A hard day, both sad and happy, and one I won’t soon forget.

We understand chemo sucks. And many ladies aren’t going to feel like putting on any makeup or even have the energy to think about it–and that’s understandable.
If you’d like to though, we think we’ve kept it pretty simple, and using Nellis as our guide, she walked us through the Trish McEvoy products she uses. Enjoy!

Here are Sheila Nellis’ 7 amazing tips for women going through this very difficult, yet life-saving treatment.

1. CLEANSING
Cleansing should be extremely gentle, she likes the Trish McEvoy Gentle Lotion. Additionally, Nellis recommends Beta Hydroxy pads 2 times per week.
2. MOISTURIZING
Skin chemo is very drying to skin, Nellis uses the oil-free Multifunctional Beauty Booster Cream on all of her clients–those going through chemo or not.
3. LOOKING FLAWLESS
We love this new Trish McEvoy tinted moisturizer. It has really great coverage that lasts all day, and yet it doesn’t look or feel heavy. Nellis showed me how to apply it with my fingers–making it super easy to use.
4. GIVING YOU EYELASHES
Nellis recommends buying the Precision #11 brush to use to create a lash line NOT an eyeliner look. Use it with a triple pigmented shadow to fit your coloring.
5. GIVING YOU BROWS
Use the same brush, #11 to create brows. Be delicate. Go slow and build as you go. We recommend you visit a cosmetic counter to find all the right colors.
6. GIVING YOU CHEEK COLOR
To give you a little color in your cheeks without going all crazy clown, Nellis recommends the Liquid Face Color tube.
7. GIVING YOU LIPS
Lastly, Nellis says the best thing you can do for lips during this crappy time of treatment is to use the Beauty Booster Lip Balm with an SPF 15. Oddly, it has a been of sheen, not color, and really brightens up your face.
