Because nude isn't the same color
for everyone, duh.
There's been controversy around the fact
that nude bras aren't actually nude for
everyone. Some believe that even calling
them as such is racist . Finally, a line of
bras has been released that offers darker
variations of the "nude" bra [via The
Debrief].
Ade Hassan's line of lingerie is called
Nubian Skin . "I was sick of having to wear
things over a black bra," she told Debrief.
"Lingerie is the foundation of any outfit. If
you have the perfect blouse which happens
to be slightly sheer the last thing you want
to do is wear it with a black bra. I want to
provide lingerie which helps women express
themselves through their clothes."
The bras come in four colors, ranging from
super-dark to super-light: berry, cinnamon,
caramel and cafe-au-lait, all of which,
honestly, sound much more appealing than
"nude."
